Let Go of Control: Trusting God with Your Finances

SHARE BLOG

He’s Never Dropped the Ball

A little reminder for the overthinker who trusts God in every room except the financial one.

You’ve done the work. Real work. You’ve let God into the hard places… the ones that used to keep you up at night. The way you see yourself. The way you hear His voice. Whether or not He actually likes you. You’ve loosened your grip in those areas and watched Him come through beautifully.

But there’s this one room. And the door is still cracked just enough for worry to live there.

Finances.

And here’s the thing nobody wants to say out loud… your anxiety about money isn’t really about money. It’s about control. Somewhere along the way you picked up this quiet belief that you are the one who has to figure it out. That if you let go, the whole thing falls apart. That God is great… but maybe not great enough for this particular situation.

So you hustle. You stress. You run the numbers at 2am. And you call it responsibility. But really? It’s self-sufficiency dressed up in a suit.

Here’s what’s true though… and sit with this for a second:

He has never once dropped the ball on you. Not once. You’re still here. Bills got paid. Somehow, some way… provision showed up. It may not have looked how you planned it, but you never went under. Not one time.

God’s nature is generosity. That’s not a motivational quote… that’s just who He is. If He handed over His own Son without hesitation, do you really think He’s up there agonizing over your light bill?

He keeps pointing you toward green pastures. Abundance. Rest. And you keep standing at the gate, arms crossed, convinced you should probably handle this one yourself.

Maybe today’s the day you walk through.

3 Things to Remember:

  • Anxiety about provision is just self-sufficiency with a worried face. It’s not humility… it’s control. Name it for what it is.
  • Review your own history. Has He ever actually left you without what you needed? Build your faith on the track record, not the fear.
  • God’s generosity isn’t something He does… it’s something He is. You don’t have to earn provision or brace for the moment He stops. That’s not His character.
