Have you ever felt like you’re constantly chasing something—approval, success, love—only to still feel empty inside? Maybe you’ve built your identity on what you do, what people think of you, or what you have. But deep down, you know something is missing. It’s time to wake up to your TRUE identity in Christ.
Paul says in Galatians 2:20 (TPT):
“My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one!”
This means your identity isn’t in your past, your performance, or your possessions. It’s in Jesus.
This is one of the biggest lies of our time. We believe that our value is based on how much we accomplish. We wear busyness like a badge of honor. But what happens when you stop achieving?
Jesus was tempted with this same lie:
“If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” (Matthew 4:3 NIV)
Translation? Prove yourself. But Jesus didn’t fall for it. Why? Because His identity wasn’t in His performance—it was in His Father.
🔥 TRUTH: You are not what you do. You are who Jesus says you are. Period.
Social media thrives on this deception. We crave likes, validation, and applause. But living for approval is exhausting—and it will never be enough.
The devil tried this trick on Jesus:
“If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you.’” (Matthew 4:6 NIV)
The enemy was saying, Let people see your power, impress them! But Jesus didn’t need to prove anything.
🔥 TRUTH: You don’t need to seek approval from people when you already have approval from God.
The world tells us that our worth is measured by our wealth, our success, and our status. But material things will never fill a spiritual void.
Satan tried to tempt Jesus with this lie:
“All this I will give you if you will bow down and worship me.” (Matthew 4:9 NIV)
Jesus knew better. His identity wasn’t found in worldly possessions but in His heavenly position.
🔥 TRUTH: Your worth isn’t found in what’s in your hands but in WHOSE hands you’re in.
If you’ve built your identity on anything other than Jesus, it’s time to awaken to the truth.
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV)
You don’t have to work for righteousness—you already HAVE it in Christ.
“It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus… our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30 NIV)
Holiness isn’t about perfection—it’s about position. And you’re positioned IN CHRIST.
“He made us accepted in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:6 NKJV)
You don’t have to strive for acceptance. You’re already fully accepted by God.
If you’ve been searching for your identity in all the wrong places, this is your moment to wake up.
✅ Stop trying to earn God’s love. Receive it.
✅ Stop living for people’s approval. You already have God’s.
✅ Stop believing you need more stuff to be valuable. You’re priceless in Christ.
If you’re ready to stop chasing identity and start living in the truth of who you are in Christ, say this prayer:
“Heavenly Father, I surrender my false identities. I declare that my identity is found in Christ alone. I am righteous, holy, and accepted. I am loved. I receive Your grace and walk in the freedom of my new identity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
If you just prayed that prayer, TEXT “LIFE” to 214.692.2291 so we can celebrate with you!
Trying to live outside of your new identity is like wearing clothes that don’t fit anymore. It’s uncomfortable, unnatural, and exhausting.
The Bible says:
“…it is high time to awake out of sleep… let us cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light.” (Romans 13:11-12 NKJV)
The waiting is over. The wanting is over. It’s time to awaken to the NEW YOU.
