“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21
Most believers are walking around with a five-fold curse they don’t even know they’re carrying:
They wake up every day measuring themselves…fighting battles that were already won, apologizing for a nature they no longer have, hoping God’s in a forgiving mood today.
Here’s the one big idea: righteousness isn’t something you achieve. It’s something you’ve been given…and it’s already done.
Not partial. Not on layaway. Not contingent on your performance this week.
In Christ, you’re an Overcomer. You reign in life. You have taken His place on earth. You aren’t a repaired old creation…you’re a New Creation!!!
Under the Old Covenant (pre cross), righteousness was limited, fragile, and constantly maintained through sacrifice. Under the New (post cross), you possess unlimited righteousness…the very nature of the Father, given freely through the finished work of the Son.
You’re exactly what your Father says you are. Not what your guilt says. Not what your fear says. Not what your track record says.
That’s not arrogance. That’s the gospel. The good news of God’s grace.
And the moment that truth lands…really lands…fear-consciousness, lack-consciousness, and sin-consciousness lose their grip. Because you’re no longer trying to get to righteousness. You’re living from it.
Pray this prayer today!
Father, thank You that righteousness isn’t something I chase…it’s something You gave me in Christ. I lay down every sin-consciousness, every sense of defeat, weakness, fear, and lack. I receive what You say about me as truth over what I feel about myself. Teach me to rest in this gift, to walk in fearless joy in Your presence, and to speak with the authority You’ve given me as Your child. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
