We Don’t Sing Lonely Love Songs Here

At Awaken Church, we refuse to sing songs that act like God ghosted us.

You know the ones. Where are you, Lord? Come down. Show up. Please don’t leave me. Emotional? Sure. Powerful-sounding? Maybe. But here’s the problem… they’re not true. And singing something that isn’t true isn’t worship. It’s just a sad song with a choir.

Here’s what Jesus would actually say back to every one of those songs:

“Where are you, Lord?” I’m right here. I’m in you and you’re in me. “Where did you go?” Nowhere. I promised I’d never leave you. “Why won’t you show up?” Show up? I already did. I made you my home address.

This is the thing that changes everything… and honestly, it’s the number one reason you and I have it better than everyone who lived before the cross. Back then, the Spirit would come and go. God felt distant because there was still a gap. So they wrote songs about yearning and absence. Those songs made sense then.

But we’re not living before the cross. We’re living after it. And everything is different now.

You don’t have to beg God to rend the heavens and come down. He already did. You don’t have to fear he’ll abandon you like an orphan. He promised he wouldn’t. You don’t have to manufacture some feeling of closeness and hope it lasts. Intimacy with God isn’t something you chase… it’s something you already have. The New Covenant settled it.

And yeah… you might not feel it right now. Feelings are real, but they’re not the final word. Don’t put your faith in your feelings. Believe what God says. His eternal word is more true than your momentary mood.

“Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him.” — Colossians 2:6

Paul doesn’t say seek union. He doesn’t say earn it or feel it or wait for it. He says live in it. Because it’s already yours. The fact is — you’re in union with Christ. So live like it. And worship like it.

That’s exactly what Awaken House Worship is about.

We’re not singing orphan-hearted cries into the void. We’re not performing religious emotion and calling it intimacy. We’re declaring… out loud, by faith, together… what God already believes is true about every single person in the room.

And here’s what he says about you:

• You’re a saint and a trophy of Christ’s victory.
• Born again of imperishable seed.
• A new creation… complete in Christ and perfect forever.
• A child of God, the apple of your Father’s eye.
• One with the Lord and the temple of the Holy Spirit.
• Eternally redeemed and completely forgiven.
• Seated with Christ in heavenly realms right now.
• Dead to sin and alive to God.
• Free from guilt and condemnation.
• Righteous, holy, and blameless before him.
• Healed and strong in the Lord.
• Hidden in Christ and eternally secure.
• Loved with an everlasting love and highly favored.
• The head and not the tail.
• Blessed with every spiritual blessing and a joint heir with Christ himself.
• Bona fide and qualified, chosen and anointed.
• A king and a priest… carrying the Lord’s authority into every room you walk into.
• A healer of the sick and a demon’s worst nightmare.
• As bold as a lion and more than a conqueror.
• A towering testimony of the Spirit’s power.

That’s not a hype list. That’s not church-y motivation-poster stuff. That’s the gospel… the actual, biblical, blood-bought truth of who you are in Christ. And when we sing it out loud together, we’re not pretending. We’re not performing. We’re agreeing with heaven.

That’s the kind of worship that changes the atmosphere in a room. That’s the kind of worship that reminds your soul what’s actually true. That’s the kind of worship we were made for.
