Quick recap from Part 1.
We talked about how everyone wants success… but most of us define it wrong.
We measure success by things like money, status, influence, appearance, and connections.
But God measures success very differently.
In God’s kingdom, success looks like faithfulness, obedience, love, generosity, humility—and action.
That’s why James says:
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” — Epistle of James 2:17
In other words:
Faith that never moves… isn’t really faith.
So the real question becomes:
What actually gets people moving?
Because if we’re honest, most of us don’t change just because we heard something inspiring.
Usually something has to wake us up.
Most people don’t change when they see the light.
They change when they feel the heat.
Think about the prodigal son in Gospel of Luke 15.
He didn’t come to his senses at the party.
He came to his senses in the pig pen.
Pain has a strange way of waking us up.
Sometimes the thing we hate the most becomes the thing that pushes us to change.
Sometimes life forces a move.
There’s a moment in First Book of Kings 17 where Elijah is sitting by a brook God provided.
Everything is working.
Food is showing up.
Water is flowing.
Life is comfortable.
Then four simple words change everything:
“The brook dried up.”
Ever had that happen?
The opportunity dries up.
The money dries up.
The relationship dries up.
The plan dries up.
But sometimes God allows the brook to dry up because your next place of provision isn’t where you’re sitting anymore.
Pressure moves us from here to there.
Then there are the moments when something suddenly clicks.
A light goes on.
You see something you’ve never seen before.
That’s what happened to Paul in Acts of the Apostles 9.
One encounter with Jesus changed everything.
New perspective.
New direction.
New life.
Sometimes all it takes is a moment where you suddenly realize:
“Wait… this is why I’ve been stuck.”
Here’s the truth.
Dreamers are everywhere.
Talkers are everywhere.
People with plans “someday” are everywhere.
But the people who actually change their lives?
They move.
They forgive.
They start.
They apologize.
They serve.
They take the step.
Because faith was never meant to sit still.
Faith was meant to move your life forward.
And here’s the good news:
Jesus didn’t just come to forgive you.
He came to give you resurrection power—the power to get out of ruts, the power to start again, and the power to move when faith calls you forward.
So here’s the question:
What’s the one thing you already know you need to do… and today might finally be the day to do it?
