The greatest trick the enemy ever pulled was convincing Christians to stay asleep to their true identity. If you don’t know who you are, you won’t live in the power God has given you!

The devil doesn’t need to destroy you—he just needs to distract you. If he can keep you unaware of your God-given power, you’ll never walk in victory.

Ephesians 5:14 (NIV) says:

“Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

3 Ways the Enemy Keeps You Asleep

1. He Traps You in Your Past

The enemy loves to remind you of your past mistakes and failures. He whispers, “You’ll never change.” But God says you’re already a new creation!

🔥 Truth: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

2. He Makes You Comfortable in Complacency

Many Christians settle for a life of spiritual mediocrity. They pray when it’s convenient, read the Bible occasionally, and live in fear rather than faith.

🔥 Truth: You weren’t saved to sit on the sidelines. “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NIV)

3. He Distracts You With Worldly Noise

Social media, entertainment, and busyness keep many believers from hearing God’s voice. The more noise in your life, the harder it is to focus on what truly matters.

God is calling you to awaken to who you really are. You are not weak. You are not defeated. You are not bound by sin.
