Easter Hit Different This Year.

Sitting in my office today putting the finishing touches on a brand new series we’re launching this Easter weekend at Awaken Church… and honestly? I can’t stop smiling. The good news never gets old. Every year I think I’ve found the bottom of it and every year it just opens up wider. There’s no bottom. It just keeps going and going and going…

Alright. Let me say something that might mess with you… in the best way!

The cross wasn’t God the Father punishing Jesus to cool down His anger. That’s not what happened. The cross was the Trinity… Father, Son, Holy Spirit, together… blowing the roof off the biggest lie humanity ever believed: that God was distant, done with us, and we were on our own.

Jesus didn’t watch our struggle from heaven and feel bad. He jumped in. All the way in. Every anxiety. Every moment of feeling invisible. Every time you’ve felt like you were too far gone, too broken, too much… He didn’t just understand it. He lived it. So He could heal it.

And here’s some of what He absorbed so you wouldn’t have to carry it:

• Your lack… so you could walk in abundance.
• Your sickness… so you could walk in wholeness.
• Your rejection… so you could live fully accepted.
• Your shame… so you could walk in freedom.
• Your fear… so you could live with real peace.
• Your heartbreak… so you could have a whole new heart.
• Your burnout… so you could finally rest.

He took all of it. Died. Descended into the darkest place sin could produce. And three days later… walked out victorious. Not just as God, but as one of us. Which means when He rose, in a very real way… so did we!

That’s Easter. Not just a holiday. A declaration that you were never as far from God as you thought.

He is risen. And that changes everything!
