Nobody Told You This Was the Job

Here’s what I keep seeing as I work with ministry leaders: we’re really good at giving what we’ve never actually received.

We hand out grace we haven’t rested in. We preach a love we’ve never sat down inside of. And then we wonder why we’re running on fumes.

The New Covenant isn’t just your message. It’s supposed to be your life. And the most important thing you can do as a leader (every single day) is receive God’s love for yourself.

Not for your people. For you.

Here’s why it changes everything.

1. It puts you out of reach of the scorekeepers.

   “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1

   Attendance. Giving. Growth metrics. Online reach. There’s always someone counting, and if you’re not grounded in God’s love, those numbers will quietly become your judge.

   But the New Covenant says the verdict is already in… and it’s not guilty!!! It’s beloved!!! You are not on trial!!! Receive that before you look at a single report, and you’ll lead from a completely different place. Free. Settled. Unshakable.

2. It kills the comparison that’s slowly draining you.

   “When they compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.” — 2 Corinthians 10:12

   Comparison is a slow leak. You don’t always notice it… just a little less energy, a little more discouragement, a quiet voice asking why your church doesn’t look like theirs.

   Here’s the truth: your dignity and your worth aren’t measured against anyone else’s ministry. They’re rooted in your union with Christ.

   When you actually receive God’s love, you stop needing what somebody else has. You’re not behind. You’re not a smaller version of someone else’s vision. You’re exactly where God planted you… and that’s enough.

Today… lead from loved. Everything else follows.
