Most people fall apart when life gets hard. They panic at every price hike, scroll themselves into anxiety at 2am, and let every bad headline rewire their mood. And honestly? That’s what the world does. That’s the default setting.
But you’re not default!!!
Think about a submarine. The whole ocean is pushing against it… thousands of pounds of pressure trying to crush it from every direction. But it doesn’t crack. Because the pressure on the inside is stronger than the pressure on the outside.
That’s not a motivational poster. That’s your life.
Jesus literally told His disciples, “In this world you will have trouble.” Not might. Not maybe. Will. He didn’t sugarcoat it. But then He said, “Cheer up. I’ve already conquered it.” (John 16:33)
You’ve been relocated. Colossians 1:13 says God already pulled you out of one kingdom and dropped you into another. Your citizenship changed the moment you said yes to Jesus. You’re in this world… inflation, broken relationships, mental health struggles, all of it… but you’re not from here. And that gap? That’s where you live differently.
The only way you sink is if you open the hatch and let the outside in.
Here’s the real problem. Most believers are loaded and living broke.
God put a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind inside you (2 Timothy 1:7). He gave you a peace that doesn’t even make logical sense… a peace that guards your mind like a bouncer at the door (Philippians 4:7). Joy that functions as literal strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
But if you never spend time in the Word, you won’t know any of that. And if you don’t know it, you can’t use it. You’ll keep reacting to every hard thing like you’re on your own… because mentally, you think you are.
It’s like having a fully loaded Smartphone but never learning how to use it. The power’s there. You’re just not accessing it.
This is why daily time with God isn’t religious routine… it’s maintenance. It keeps you pressurized on the inside so the outside doesn’t get in. Nobody can do that for you. It’s personal. It’s yours to build.
Deep sea fish don’t just handle the darkness and crushing pressure at the bottom of the ocean. They thrive in it. God literally wired them for that environment. Bioluminescent…glowing in the deepest dark.
That’s the picture of a believer in a hard season.
Isaac planted crops in the middle of a famine and pulled a hundredfold harvest that same year (Genesis 26). A widow in a drought never ran out of food… not once (1 Kings 17). An entire enslaved nation prospered so aggressively that the most powerful empire on earth felt threatened by them.
That’s not luck. That’s engineering.
1 John 4:4 says the One living inside of you is greater than anything operating in this world. Not equal to. Greater. And 1 John 4:17 says that as Jesus is right now… anointed, victorious, undefeated… that’s what you are in this world.
So when the pressure builds, when the situation looks impossible, when every voice around you says it’s over… your response isn’t panic. It’s this:
“If God is for me, who can possibly be against me?” (Romans 8:31)
You don’t crack!!! You don’t fold!!! You don’t sink!!!
You were engineered for this. Built to be powerful under pressure. Now go live like it.
